Us mud monkeys excel at many things.
Biblical divine fundamentals and sins,
castes of slaves, soldiers and kings,
through deception and lies among kin.
But the Meyers of BC were too quick to call dibs.
The composition wasn’t mud or clay in men.
And don’t get me started on cannibalized ribs,
because you, me, we’re all made of sand.
Sceptics will argue both came from mother earth.
Blasphemy! Blasphemy! – Repent now!
And there is a line drawn beneath this curse.
Cross it and prowl; or just stay an educated cow.
Sand can be moulded and shaped,
temperature, pressure to mould the masses.
By putting all blame at fakes or snakes,
Creating segregation into opaque or transparent glass.
As beautiful as one can be,
and as perfect as one can be seen,
fragility and pain is in you and me.
We are vulnerable even when thick or thin.
Empathy comes at a steep price.
The said process is irreversible,
You can’t always remain happy and nice.
It’ll reach a boiling point and no longer tolerable.
Shattered glass lies innocently on the floor.
It’s like parts of yourself you’ve just killed.
Sure, you can go easy and choose the door,
or, look into yourself and you’ll see a few,
A few alternative paths to choose.
You believe you can fix this with glue.
Some you win, most you lose,
and this, you have not a single clue.
For the scars are permanently etched,
when you place all your chips in faith.
To think for everything, there is a catch.
The cracks just got deeper and it’s too late.
Once broken considered sold.
Once shattered, there’re temptations to fold.
And if you just do as you’re told,
look deep down inside for you have no soul.

*Note:
There are 2 meanings to this poem. One is a more obvious one and the other isn’t. Forgive me if this is a little rusty, I haven’t wrote in a long time.
